April 14 & 15

Well this is for 2 days as last night was a late night.

The Mechanic arrived at 10 with new pulley and packing.  As soon as the packing was done he was off for the pump which some how was going to the wrong address.  What a mess.  When he got back at 7 it took a long time to install the pump, correct a bunch or other problems to make thing a little safer.  Now I have a couple more pick up jobs to complete.

The new problem of no start occasionally had to be addressed so now we have an added button to start the boat.  The problem has not occurred since the button was put in place.  Kind of weird.  It was 10:30when Mike finally closed his bags and took off.

We had a short night sleeping and lots of bumping around and a few light showers.  But we made it up.

Forcaste was bad till 2 PM with small craft advisory but Dianne. really wanted to move out.  I wanted to wait till 10 but she happy with that Idea.  We were underway at 9:00.

The start was a little bumpy.  The route then put us into a small canal and that was great calm and smooth.  We made good time.

I finally reached the Marina where we planned to stay and the was surprised to here a boat our size was trying to run the Pamlico Sound he said it would be rough.  He was right it was really rough but the boat tracked straight into the wind and did not wallow once.  It was very very bumpy and lots of white caps but we did make it to River Dunes.  Fuel use was a little low 5.1 miles to the gallon but still better than most other people we speak with.

Once in the Harbor Dunes Marina, Kay and Don texted us and said they were glad to see us moving.  Turns out they left an intermediate stop along the way and gave up and stopped outside of this marina and anchored.

Later tonight met Tim and Pyllis Ramsey on the M/V Endeavor.  They are also first timers on the loop and we visited for a few minutes.

They are following another boat to gain some experience.

Too rough for a picture of the sound however the water bounced over the top of the boat .
