Alligator River Marina to Conjock Marina.

35.7 miles

The distance was only 35 miles so a much shorter day than yesterdays Marathon of 53 miles.

I start if the day looked boring and smooth.  By the time we reached the middle I learned a lesson. Regardless on how nice it looks always put away all the stuff that you do not want on the floor.  Lesson. 2 even when it is true that it is better than it was yesterday never say that until the whole ride is over.  Around the middle of the sound it became what could best be described as sporting again.  Luckily that stopped by the time I got to the far side. Then the ride became a canal run which was scenic but not a lot of driving skills required.

About the worse of it was dodging crab traps.  Dianne and I have a new system of communicating the risk.  Crab trap dead ahead move right means move now.  Crab trap in front means look out but do not panic right now, we can discuss it.  Finally there is crab trap, means there could be more.  What we have proven is if there is one then there are others around.

After arriving we went up to the bar for a drink.  Meet Wally Cox on the Pearl he several words of advice.

  1. Stay focused and pay attention.
  2. Have patience you will learn
  3. The boat will do more than the people in the boat are willing to do.  So do not do stuff you are not enjoying.  Even if you are not enjoying it you most likely will not die.
  4. Anchor out more
  5. Pay Attention stay on course
  6. Do not do stupid stuff
  7. Have fun
  8. Pay attention do not hit crab pots.
