York Town to Deltaville VA
The navy boats close by us last night were interesting to watch last night they played taps last night and the Stars and Strips this morning while lowering and rising the flags.
fFnished the shopping yesterday as is normal when you depend on others it was a pain in the ass. The dock master told us the shuttle was super fast and always close by. It took to two calls to find him and 30 minutes for him to pick us up. Then another 20 minutes after we finished the shopping. Put all our stuff away and had a steak dinner with crab cheese sauce on top it was great.
Hiked around Yorktown after dinner and saw some of the sites. The battle field was 360 degrees french troops on the water side and American and French troop surrounding the water sides. Saw some of the forts build by both the defenders and attackers so it was neat. A large part of the town is National Historic site and some day I would like to do a more complete tour. Interestingly at least 3 marjor battles were fought there, one in the revolutionary war, one in war of 1812, and finally the civil war. Tomorrow the pirates invade Yorktown and we explored their encampment and many more were arriving this morning. Really a spot that is worth the time to visit.
The run this morning starting off in dead calm and with the current. It then changed to light chop and wind against us and ended with us coming into the tiny harbor of Fishing Bay Marina. The fuel dock was open so filled as much as we could. The fuel gauge is really playing games with us today it read 60 gallons, rose to 72 gallons during the run and fell to 50 gallons after filling up. I maintain a fuel log and log currently says I have about 63 gallons and I think it is more than that.
Counts today
-1 I love that boat just the “right size”
-12 big container ships running toward Baltimore in the center of the channel.
-2 crab boats out working their traps
-5 sails boat close by many more off in the distance.
-71 crab traps that were monitored to ensure we did not hit them.
After fueling we asked about a slip and it was high and the wind was not bad so we decided to anchor out for the night. This is first for us and I turned on two anchor alarms and dropped a second monitoring anchor and line so far no drift. That is after 2 hours so we see how well we do. A repeat looper has anchored up just down from us he did much fast than we did I guess that is experience,
Few pictures today so here are some more from yesterday.

Boy, you guys are really moving along. Don't rush too much through the Chesapeake. Lot's of great small towns to enjoy! Especially on the eastern shore.
