June 23

Again not a travel but still a little relaxing and stressful

We arose early and started plans for our guests to arrive around 11:00.  A lot of cutting and dicing and prep work that was all complete at 10:00. Then waiting till about noon.

The boat mechanic arrived at 9:00 am and started fooling around on the boat.  I had prepped the job so all he had to do is reach down put a 6 mm hex wrench on the bolt and turn it.  With limited space made a ratchet that fitted but still could not turn the bolt.  After 3 more hours of trying on one side he gave up.  So even with the prepping and correct tool he could not get the job done.  They claim he spent 4 hours and charged me only 2 but the rate seems high.  Now I figure we will finish the trip without a stern Thruster a big disappointment but I guess there is not a lot I can do about it.

Joe and Debbie arrived first at about 10:40 then Donna and David arrived around 11:30.  We pocked around for about an hour then it became clear every one was hungry.  I had a put a lot of effort into having the meal ready to finish grilling and put it on so dinner was only 20 minutes later.  Then the group wanted to see the area and we took off to look around the result was a whole lot of nothing.  Came back everyone took off home.

During the day Joe said no way he could live on such a small boat.  Then Donna said it was nice “cute” boat but way to rocky for her to be on.  So I guess only Dianne and could survive together on this “cute little Tug”.

After they all left I spent my time sorting out the bill My conclusion is too low to complain about no result but too high not to wonder if I was ripped off.  After Settling the bill back to the boat.  As I had prepped it I had to put it back together again not as easy as it sounds as clearly I am not the first person to take it apart meaning the screws holes are all worn out and required special fitting.

Missed a call to Sun Butter people due to having my head in the bilge trying to reduce oil leaking and making sure. the boat did not sink as the guy working on the boat had several through hull connection open and I wanted to double check that they were closed correctly.  To be honest I checked my mail yesterday and I guess I missed the invite.  Sorry guys.
