FryingPan Island to Parry Sound 16 miles

Woke to wind this morning checking into it we decided it was a bad Ideal to try to stick our plan and sail north.  So we elected to go east to parry sound and resupply everything.

The first part of the sailing was a little “sporty” but not as bad as I feared It require some fancy driving but we made center channel each time Traffic was lighter than Saturday or Sunday but there was still more of it than would have expected and a lot were working boats either ferrying supplies or construction supplies. I guess we did OK as thing worked out.

Now finding fuel was more of a challenge there is only one dock in Parry that has Diesel and they hide it pretty well.  We had to go by it twice to find it and even then I had a very hard time finding someone to pump it.  But again it worked out OK.  The lines were badly tangled and had help sort them out had not seen that on a fuel dock before.  After fueling we checked into a marina did the grocery shopping and then laundry.  Made fried chicken with RED Eye gravy Dianne said she liked hot stuff.  I assume she is talking about me.

The Marina we are staying in is nice they have showers so I will be clean again when I go to bed tonight.

Weird Stuff to seen today

  • War Monument for a Canadian regiment that listed listed Killed in action, died of Wounds, Killed accidentally and Officers.  Seems odd they died in France during WW2.
  • A dog with crippled hind legs using a carriage to walk with only front legs.
  • The longest train trestle in Canada build in 1914 and painted by the group of 7
  • All 7 of the lumber mills build operating in 1914 were burnt to the ground in less than 7 years.  I wonder if insurance was involved
  • Found that Cruise ships come to Parry Sound During the Summer from both the USA and overseas.  One that has 5 stories on board.  (note this might add 25% to the population that day)
