Killarney to Spanish River Marina 50 miles

Went a long ways today and I am tried so this will short and sweet.

Reason for the big is Dianne really needs a home visit so we doubled up today.  Tomorrow will be a more normal day then Tuesday will be a big day.  Returning to USA hopefully no problems.

Highlights

  • We were out at 8:30 a little later than I would have liked but:
    • Had a lot of problems charting the course on the Garmin. There are a lot of rocks in this area and charts are slightly different making it a tough job
    • Dianne chart also gave problems as it charted a couple areas that I lacked the courage to pass though and had to make changes to the route.
    • Breakfast was a little slower than I would have liked
    • Dianne and I both were slow getting out of bed and dressing
  • Drive today started off easy no problems but by afternoon it had advanced to 7 on the “sporty” scale
  • Saw 20 boats out on the water today 5 were sail boats and looked like they were flying along
  • Saw one boat with giant bow wake and stern wake that bounced us all over the place.  I would love to have had paid him back as it knocked all my stuff all the shelf.

  • Went for a walk on the hiking trials last night had great views of the bay and sunset.  Also a lot of bugs
  • May flies are back again messing with boat
  • Not a lot of oil loss that is a good thing
  • Water fitting broke again tried to repair again not sure it will take have to oder a replacement part and pray there is enough spare line to connect it.
  • Had fish dinner in Herberts in Killarney highly recommend it good food but a little pricey
  • visited with some loopers in the Killarney it was fun.  One had completed he loop multiple times so he had good advise
  • When returning to the boat heard a woman say “See it is not windy now why won’t they rent us a paddle board”.  She said this to a guy while standing in the lee of the boat house with a steep roof over her head.  If she looked up she would have have seen a giant flag flapping in the wind.
