Saugatuck to South Haven 25 miles

Last night was fun.  We did go to the concert and there tons of people our age all dressed up in weird clothes with lights everywhere.  I mean in place I would never have expected to see lite up on both males and females.  Had a couple of beers and then at intermission we had ice cream so it was two hit day for Dianne.

Currently the “cute boat” count is at 95.  Plus one comment that was, “North Carolina to here, on the loop.  That a long ways for a little boat.”

Todays ride was short.  The weather finally gave us a break and winds were light and not into our face.  Waves were less than 2 feet so milage was good at 5.5 per gallon speed average was 7+ per hour.  Currently we have doubled the hours on the boat from the time we bought it so it doing great.  The oll leak has slowed down a lot.

Once in Woodland harbor we have not seen a harbor master so I assume we are paid up.  Getting the space was a little nerve wreaking but I made it.  The channel in very narrow with lots of traffic.  Then once in the marina we had to search out the  slip and wind caught me going in.  Dianne would not jump off and so I did taking two ropes with me.  From there it was easy.

Where we stayed last night was tough on the boat.  First the city water connection was broken off.  Then this morning I notice one of the 25 ft bow ropes was warn by an exposed bolt.  Finally when I got here I found that fender had dropped off.  Not a good do for low cost repairs.  The bumper is $60, the rope is $25 and new water intake connection was $50.  But that is boating.

Cleaned out the bilge again and it was not too bad so the treatment seems to be working OK.

A big 40 footer for sale here is only $72000 do not think I could afford the gas though.

Did some plotting and it would appear that we home Aug. 6-15th.
