Anchor on Tombigbee river to Columbus MS 30 miles 1 lock

Quiet day only saw one tow with 10 barges and 3 boats all day.

We did see a rattlesnake swimming across the bow of the boat.  I kept trying to go in front of him and finally after a while he gave and let us pass him and he just looked up and rattled at us a little bit.  Made swimming a little harder for us last night.  Then today when I suggested I would cool off by dangling my feet off the back of the boat I was told to be careful about alligators in the area.  We might never swim again.

The people here are friendly but and a little bit older than we are.  The boat next to use has Molley the dog and Jim who is very concerned we might unplug one of his power sources.  Another person Dave I think rides a Harley and has a boat that is trying to get fixed for the last 1.5 months.

I have come to conclusion my boat log is not showing level correctly.  Even though I put in the average and mileage covered each day.  Then calculate used diesel and compare that to computer calculated used I seen to use less than the computer by about 10%.  For example today I show a use of 10.6 gallons total and I added all I could only 9.8 could be put in.  This has been true for the 5 fill ups and keep using the total in the boat to try to show closer to what is in it.  The level indicator is a little weird too for example this morning it showed 44 gallon when I started and before filling it showed 52 gallons!?  OH well I know I have as close to a full tank as possible.

We have picked up our rental to drive home with and have decided early in the morning.  Now we are waiting for a thunderstorm to wash over us which is good as it means our AC is working just fine thank you.  (IE sun is not shinning on the boat. heating it up.

Well that is news.  I will be home for the next 10 days at least.
