Fort Pierce to Melbourne 50 miles

Did 100 miles total in 2 days so we are moving along quickly.  Although the ride today was shorter arrived at 2:30 it was still a long day.

Last week when my anchor breaker popped the circuit breaker for the Navigation lights also popped.  Turns out this caused my new anchor light to short out and therefore it had to be replaced.  After arrival we rode our bikes to a West Marina and purchased it.  Unfortunately it was not the same one we had and therefore required a lot of modification. First drilling holes then identifying the correct wiring and finally the installation.  This was interrupted by a thunderstorm and only made the job a little harder.

As it was late when we finished we had dinner out again tonight. It is so much easier than cooking it can be habit forming.  The bloody Mary’s also make eating out easier too.

The route was straight north up the intercostal waterway.  Scenery is either typical expensive Florida condos and homes or just mango marsh. Saw one dolphin today, one sunk sail boat and aside from that not a lot more.   Yesterday must of been 100 boats crashing around us today only about 10 but none of them gave us a slow pass.  The just zip by and basically rock us off course and then smile and wave as they disappear in the distance.  The radio was busy someone found a capsized boat off the Miami coast with people in the water.  Not a surprise north winds and north flow of the gulf stream had up to 5 foot waves in the ocean today.  That is why we stay in the ICW with just light chop.
