Pounce De Leon to Palm coast Marina 39 miles
Ok no grounding today so things are already better. Plus the marina has real bathrooms and showers not just a shack with toilet and bad floors. So the day is better.
I was up early this morning and thought I would be out by 8 only to discover that my plan was ruined by tide, wind and current. What happened is the floating dock shifted back and up thereby catching my power cord in the roller and passing over it, trapping the cord. As the cord was not damaged the only problem was how to free it. I tried pushing the boat and that did not work, thought about starting the boat and using that to pull the dock. The final solution was to borrow a 5 foot pry bar from the marina and just pry the dock off the roller and lift the cord. The longest part of the job was finding the pry bar and then walking back to return it. It still me feel stupid as I should know better to let my cord hang any where near the roller on a floating dock. In my defense I was just trying to keep from being a tripping hazard. But alas no good turn goes unpunished.
The weather is definitely cooler today and therefore we saw a lot of south bound cruiser today 13 in total. As we move north we are seeming more and more south bound boats. Most are bigger than 35 feet, however in a nod to manner at least 4 slowed as the passed us.
Saw 4 boats that washed ashore today most appeared to salvageable. The trip was straight north and the scenery is best described as Florida homes, condos and marsh that could not be built on.
Took a walk in Palm coast after arrive and stopped to price shop the homes we could afford the 400K home away from the water but not the 1.5 millions ones with a view.
