Somehow we found our way out of dock and back to the route without any problems although the exit to marina was shallow less than 4 ft in one place. On the way up the ICW we saw 4 boats either completely sunk or washed ashore. One them was in just the wrong place and confused me but the shallow water on the GPS and Dianne quickly solved the problem and returned to channel without problems.
Aside from that the trip was more of the typical stuff with lots of apartments, homes and docks too close to channel for comfort and big sea walls that the wakes just bounce off. We have continued to see boats heading south for the winter a couple of them flying the Great Loop flag like we are. However when spoke to one on the dock here is plan is to start north again in the spring so really he nothing more than snow bird at this point.
I noticed while docking here I dislike being helped in as I get flustered and nervous with the guy helping out then make small mistakes. Plus they ofter grab my bow before I am ready and still swinging in my stern which stops the swing for fear that I will pull him off the dock as the bow swings out. But it works out.
After we fueled in the St. Augustine and pumped out our waste, we took our bikes out to explore. We toured the fort again and this time walked around the outside and did the inside. Then walked the old city part and looked at the buildings, and did a tour of a distillery. The prices have gone up a little and the quality in my down a little bit but I still bought a bottle of Rum and Bourbon. On the ride back to the boat we stopped at the end of the cross country bicycle route where Andy and I finished our ride together which was my first long trip, and this is just a continuation of experience.
