Jacksonville Fl. to Fenandina Fl  30 miles

The anchor worked again last night wand we had no movement after the initial set.  We dd drift around a bit with the tides but basically stay put.  After dinner we played a few games of Dice and won which is unusual and then Diane said she wanted to try to swim.  So out we went, fist complaint was the water was a little chilly and the second complaint was the current  was to fast.  But she did jump in, held on to the back of the boat and climbed back out again. So it was short swim.

As we stopped short yesterday due the current and long backtrack we would have to do today was to be short ,In addition it is Dianne’s Birthday we had took the extra time making pancakes.  We still finished at noon in Fernanda Beach Marina.  The very north tip of FL.

So on the cruise up of course the current is against again this it is rising and that meant a long ride.  with low miles per gallon.  Part it switch but never to be fully within our maximum ended up with 4.4 miles per gallon today.  That means from last file I have used 16 gallons.  The pumps here were damaged by Ian so hopefully tomorrow we will fill.

After arrival here we had a ton of people with questions about the boat and trip.  Also collected anther 8 cute little boats.  Total is now 185 only 15 to make 200.

Rode the town on the bikes and had to stop for Ice cream as well.  Learned a little history here.  The area was first Spanish in the 1600, then English after the French Indiana wars. After the revolutionary war Britain gave it back to Spain.  This area then became a hub of trade both legal and illegal for spices and slaves.  (clearly it was easy to bring here then cross the river in the USA and resell them).  Then American took the island who left it and pirates took over a number of years.  Back to the US and then Confederates and once again to the USA.  So a lot of fighting for small but important piece of land.  Today is industry is pulp and paper and tourists.
