Apalachachola to Carrabelle FL 30 miles

Very short and boring day so only point form

  • Sleep till 8 eastern not that makes much difference as we basically live sunrise to sunset so left bed about 1/2 hour after first light.
  • quick breakfast and easy out of dock
  • Crossing was rough 1-2 foot waves in the “protected waters” meaning I had a very hard time keeping the boat on track
  • Scenery was mainly splashing water on the windshield.  Really too far from shore to see much
  • no problems navigating route a little trials of keeping on course but all was good.
  • In Carabelle had problems docking wind just sucked and kept blowing we around too much but I was lucky people caught my bow
  • checked next port of call and they are open so will try for it note first port on west coast of Florida
  • People here in Mooring marina really nice help docking twice once on fueling and once on docking in slip.
  • cheaper than last night and better service
  • Advice here is to leave from crystal River and do a 150 mile run past Fort Myers and stop in Tampa.
  • Checked and Okeechobee canal is open so we are thinking of not doing the keys as would require and crossing Florida as original plan but as we proceed will be guided by information collected.
  • Went shopping now cooking ribs for dinners and relaxing with a bourbon
  • thought I saw a shark fin close to the boat today not sure though
