Carrabelle to nowhere

As stated. yesterday we decided to wait a day hoping for smaller waves in the gulf.  So we lazed in bed till 8 AM late but too late.  As us normal for us we are stuck in port I made a little more complex breakfast so today it was apple muffins in the air fryer there were good.  Dianne even had a second cup of coffee unusual for her.

We did the following during the day:

  • Laundry
  • repacked bags
  • changed slips as the one we were in is going to someone else and the dock master was just letting us use out of kindness.  Note yesterdays docking was sucky due to wind and current I did much better today.
  • Filled water tank for crossing tomorrow
  • rode bicycles to see a museum of local history.  Learned about the local history of Indians, salt production, Tarpon steam ship and its sinking, Tates hell in wilderness, fishing in the area and shipwrecks on Dog Island.
  • Plotted course to Steinhatchee a very long run across the gulf more than 70 miles.  Plan to leave before first light and hope not to run aground while leaving the harbor.
  • Saw a house made out of bottles

We are planning to eat out tonight and Dianne most likely will hit the hay early as she is not a good early raiser.

I am a little concerned about the jump tomorrow it will be longest run we will have to make over big water.  I will have to check on the next stop to be sure things are good there today too so as it early here I guess I should get to work.
