Oct. 18
Melbourne to Titusville 45.5 miles 6.5 hours at rate of 4.9 miles per gal.
We started moving around the boat while it was still dark. So it was pretty much a standard start to the day made coffee and had a cinnamon roll for breakfast. Then launched out of the marina right at 8.
Sticking inside the ICW again today keep hearing 2-3 foot wave outside the barrier Islands and 4-6 foot waves in the gulf stream so we do stray far. Another day of most boats just rushing by but one did slow it was a real surprise to see it happen.
The route was pretty much due north in a narrow channel I assume dredged in the bays about 2 ft wide with shallows on both sides. This is way it seems so odd to me the boats are zooming past for sure they damage the shoreline and most likely the channel. There are signs that say Idle speed only November through March to protect the Manatees. There is no sign that say Pass slow red Ranger Tugs with slow no wakes.
Saw 5 sets of dolphins.
About 10 boats total
4 working barges
8 bridges
NASA’s Launch preparation and rocket assembly building
Arrived and fueled up then started laundry and did some shopping. Now just waiting on the drier and to start dinner preparations
